Production Planner

Collaborate with the Forecast Analyst, Purchasing, Sales, and Site Production Teams on a regular basis to develop crop schedules/work orders for all customers. Track crop progression throughout the season by way of regular site visits and team walks at the site and store level. Make necessary improvements in crop planning with the aim of creating higher performing crops.


  • Develop seasonal, comprehensive production plans for each crop forecast in our production system.
  • Maintain data pertaining to crop plans, new items and resource planning.
  • Look for and promote system improvements that will streamline current methods.
  • Regularly meet with the Forecast Analyst and Director of Product Innovation to review and finalize all approved forecasts.
  • Communicate and manage with both the production and sales teams all changes that occur throughout the planning season including but not limited to supply and variety changes.
  • Create and execute a bi-monthly travel schedule that allows the opportunity to physically inspect crops throughout the season at multiple growth stages as well as incorporate store visits to see performance at the retail level.
  • Attend CAST, Cultivate and other product events as necessary to gain product knowledge and stay current with the latest genetics.
  • With guidance from the Director of Product Innovation, develop a knowledge sharing process to continually improve product expertise and consistent planning methods.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Excel, specifically Pivot Tables, V-Lookup and other applicable formulas
  • PICAS and ERP planning software experience preferred


  • Bachelors and/or Associates degree in Horticulture preferred
  • 3-5 years’ horticulture work experience required
