JOB SUMMARY:    The Shipping Manager provides leadership and oversight of the selecting, staging and loading teams for the Aurora Shipping Department. Key drivers of this position will be to train and develop the shipping team with the intention of improving quality, efficiency and innovation. Direct Reports include Selecting Supervisor, Staging/Loading Supervisor, Shipping Coordinator, and Tag Librarian.



  • Provide leadership for all shipping activities with the supervisors, including selecting, staging, shipping supplies, and distribution
  • Train and develop direct reports in skills of supervision
  • Prepare and plan for season, including both labor and financial budgets
  • Ship quality plant material in accordance to customer requirements and expectations
  • Develop standards for measuring performance of department and monitor target rates
  • Support all shipping functions to ensure orders are fulfilled to customer expectations
  • Walk the farm on a daily basis to observe crops and check inventory
  • Monitor daily operations to identify and resolve problem areas relating to staffing, scheduling, and quality of products
  • Promote positive team environment
  • Discuss and share best practices with other facilities
  • Coordinate with the home office sales team on weekly capacity and planning
  • Promote a safe work environment
  • Operate with high integrity, adhering to Company standards and values

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred, and 5 years industry experience
  • 2 years experience leading a team
  • Warehouse experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office and experience with MRP systems
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred



  • Must be able to work long days and weekends during peak seasons
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

SALARY: $70k - $85k
