Stock Plants Lead

JOB SUMMARY:       To complete weekly stock plants harvesting and maintenance in a timely manner. This involves receiving the information regarding which varieties to harvest and what maintenance to perform and completing those tasks before the end of the week. If necessary and if time allows, assist Trials Coordinator with their workload. This position is also responsible for working with the Trials Coordinator and the Production Manager to estimate potential harvests and develop accurate production curves.



  • Harvest cuttings for each variety to its correct specifications and in the correct quantity for the week.
  • Complete stock plant maintenance according to instructions received from the Production Manager, Head Grower, and Trials Coordinator.
  • Adhere to any Standard Operating Procedures relevant to stock area.
  • Ensure drip tube irrigation system is correctly positioned and utilized by Growing team. Notify growing anytime repairs are needed.
  • Keep stock area clean and organized.
  • Monitor for pests (e.g. white flies, mealy bugs, spider mites, etc) and disease (e.g. botrytis, powdery mildew, etc.).
  • Direct and lead coworkers to complete harvesting and maintenance when the workload requires assistance from other departments.
  • Provide a weekly 3-week harvest estimate.
  • Capture production data for forecast purposes.
  • Assist Receiving during peak season as necessary and if time allows.
  • Assist Production Manager and Supervisor in creating any other systems that help the team effectively manage the stock area.



  • Good communication skills, both verbal and in writing, in person, and via phone or radio with all levels of staff.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bilingual English-Spanish preferible



  • Seasonal peaks may require some weekend work.
  • Work inside a greenhouse, in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
